Community Bankshares, Inc. is the parent company for Community Resource Bank N. A., a South Carolina community bank with offices in northeast Richland County, Fairfield County, Orangeburg, Sumter and Florence. The bank provides a wide range of financial services to its customers throughout the state in addition to mortgage products, through its Community Resource Mortgage division. Its assets total more than $560 million.  Community Bankshares is headquartered in Orangeburg, where it began operation in 1987. Community Resource Bank resulted from the 2006 merger of CBI's four bank subsidiaries – Orangeburg National Bank, Sumter National Bank, Florence National Bank and the Bank of Ridgeway. Community Bankshares’ common stock trades on the American Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol SCB.
